The second attachment shows what happens to the text color when I click within the edit field to edit the text. The first attachment shows the Text dialog before I click on the text to edit it. So, I'm trying to edit black text against a black background. Even if I select "By Layer" in the "color button" the text color remains black. The text stays white when "Simple Text" is checked.)
